For 2019 as well: compensation for CO2 emissions

Dr. Behr increases its commitment to climate neutrality

Dr. Behr imports its raw materials from a variety of ports in the world. The company already offset its sea freight emissions generated in 2018. As we are committed to sustainability, we have done the same for 2019, by calculating how much CO2 was emitted by the shipment of our goods in 2019 and then offsetting these emissions.

For this compensation, Dr. Behr collaborated with the German non-profit association PRIMAKLIMA. Since 1991, this association has been committed to the conservation and enhancement of forests, including in compensation projects that comply with the CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) Gold Standard. CDM, i. e. emission reduction projects in developing countries, is a mechanism of the Kyoto Protocol.

The ambitious Gold Standard ensures that the projects not only make sense in terms of climate policy but also in terms of development policy.

CO2 footprint becomes more complete

Since 2017 already, Dr. Behr customers have only received their goods from Dr. Behr with the UPS shipping option « carbon neutral ». With this option, UPS supports projects that offset the emissions caused by transporting the goods.

Together with the climate compensation for the sea freight of our products, we have ensured climate neutrality for a large part of the transport chain of our products for the years 2018 and 2019—a commitment that we intend to expand further in the coming years.
