Antioxidant power and EU origin
As far as the ORAC value is concerned, the elderberry is the number two, right after the aronia berry. ORAC stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, the antioxidant power of a food.
The manufacturer indicates the following contents:
– anthocyanins ≥ 13 % (after UV)
– polyphenols ≥ 18 % (after UV)
We regularly have the polyphenol content checked by an independent laboratory using the DMAC method and achieve a content of more than 19 %.
Our supplier from Poland obtains the elderberries from fruit growers in the region and thus can trace its products. Direct contact with the producers ensures a consistently high quality.
It is above all the combination of the varieties used (Sambucus nigra “Sampo” and Sambucus nigra “Haschberg”), the correct cultivation and the optimal harvesting time that ensures the content of secondary plant substances.
